Dental Implants

Dental implants are fixed replacements for missing teeth. They are typically made of titanium and are carefully and precisely inserted into the jawbone beneath the gum line. Over time, the implant fuses with the jawbone through a process known as the osseointegration, providing a stable and durable replacement of the tooth root, thereafter we will attach a custom made and naturally looking prosthesis to replace the crown part of the tooth. One of our experienced dentists will see you for a consultation to evaluate if you are a suitable candidate for dental implant, this is usually a free consultation appointment, based on this consultation your dentist will create a personalized treatment plan; this plan may include details of the treatment stages, time, cost and number of implants needed. The first stage involves placement of the implants in the jawbone, this usually is done under local anaesthetics. The second stage is after the healing period is completed where a small connector called the abutment is attached to the implant, this serves as a support structure for the final prosthesis (crown or bridge).

The final step involves making the artificial crown, this will be a custom-made crown to match the shape, size and colour your natural teeth. Good oral hygiene measures and regular check-up are essentials for the long-term maintenance of the dental implants.

Full arch Implants

This procedure is for patients who have lost most or all their teeth, and it involves the placement of four to six dental implants in the jawbone to support a fixed and full arch of artificial teeth. Implants supported dentures

The traditional dentures usually sit on the gum and supported by the natural teeth; however, movement of the denture or discomfit can still be an issue; dental implants can be used to support removable denture, we usually use between two to four dental implants to increase the stability and comfort of your full denture.

Implants supported bridges

In some cases where multiple teeth are missing, the dental implants can be used to support bridges, either as a conventional bridge where we use implants on both side of the gap or as a cantilever bridge where we use implants on one side of the gap.
